Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients of all ages using recognized assessment tools and observational methods.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that target both immediate and prolonged communication and swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver individual speech therapy sessions honing in on aspects such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to develop unified care strategies.
  • Provide education for patients and families to encourage advancements outside of therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the healing process.
  • Document patient progress accurately and promptly in accordance with advanced medical standards.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements through ongoing education and networking with peers.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Licensing and Certifications

  • Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
