Job Summary

Under direct supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist, the Student Clinical Respiratory Technician assists department staff with supply stocking, identifying supply inventory needs, performing ventilator calibrations, and maintenance of existing respiratory equipment. This position delivers ventilators and supplies as needed throughout the hospital, completes Clinical Engineering requests and completes tasks requested by the Respiratory Care Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidate must have current CPR training.

Currently enrolled, actively attending and in good standing in a Respiratory Care Program having successfully completed the 1st semester of the respiratory care curriculum.

This position has a maximum appointment length of two (2) months past the graduation date of the respiratory care program.

Must have physical ability to: sit, walk, stand, and bend intermittently throughout the workday.

Must have the ability to lift 20 lbs. frequently; and up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Interpersonal skills to interact with a broad spectrum of staff.

Organized individual who manages workload independently and effectively.

Basic computer skills.

Analytical skills to effectively troubleshoot equipment.

Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.

Normal auditory and visual acuity with ability to discriminate color.
