Major duties include, but are not limited to:
Independently performs the full range of audiological activities for the care of inpients and outpients presenting with the most difficult and complex hearing disorders, including those pients whose communicive abilities are compounded by emotional and/or extreme physical symptoms.
Conducts a full range of audiological evaluions to determine the type and degree of hearing loss, determines pients' need for amplificion, predicts and measures the effectiveness of amplificion, and determines need for and type of rehabilition and counseling of veterans with hearing loss and their families.
Develops coherent trement stregies.
Possesses knowledge of clinical services and the ability to perform them independently.
Conducts assessments, provides trement interventions.
Provides consultion to other health care professionals.
Possesses knowledge of, and performs functions associed with contemporary audiology practice.
Maintains pient records and other da required by the clinic, service, and medical center.
Work Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (subject to change based on the needs of the facility)

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
United Stes Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, Section A, paragraph 3.g.
Educion. The individual must possess either of the below:
Doctor of Audiology (AuD) from an audiology program recognized by the Council on Academic Accredition (CAA) of the American Speech- Language-Hearing Associion (ASHA). The CAA is the only accredition agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Educion (USDE) and the Council for Higher Educion Accredition to accredit entry-level audiology programs. HR office staff and management officials may verify the program accredited from CAA www.caa.asha.org. You must submit a transcript showing you were awarded a doctoral degree th meets the sted requirements to receive credit. OR
Other doctoral degree in hearing science or a directly reled field from an institution accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Educion. You must submit a transcript showing you were awarded a doctoral degree th meets the sted requirements to receive credit. NOTE: Effective January 1, 2007, the CAA in Audiology and Speech- Language Phology of ASHA accredits only doctoral degree or AuD programs in audiology.
Foreign Educion. To be creditable, educion completed outside the U.S. must have been submitted to a prive organizion specializing in the interpretion of foreign educional credentials. Such educion must have been deemed least equivalent to th gained in conventional U.S. programs. You must submit your transcript showing you were awarded a doctoral degree and the documention from the prive organizion th determined your foreign educional credentials were least equivalent to a doctoral degree in audiology, hearing science, or a directly reled field th meets the above requirements to receive credit.
Licensure. Individuals must hold a full, current and unrestricted license to practice audiology the doctoral level in a United Stes ste, territory, commonwealth or the District of Columbia. You must provide an unexpired copy of your licensure to receive credit. Note: All audiologists who perform compension and pension examinions perform direct pient care duties and must possess a full, current and unrestricted license to practice audiology and must meet the experience requirements under Section 2. D. See 38 C.F.R. 4.85.
English Language Proficiency: Candides must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).
May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfhering Provision as described in the VA Qualificion Standard for this occupion (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupion and meet the criteria).
GRADE DETERMINATIONS: In addition to meeting the above Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Grade Determinion criteria below.
Audiologist, GS-11
Educion. None beyond the basic requirements.
Demonstred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs). In addition to the above the candides must demonstre all the following KSAs in their resume:
Knowledge of principles and techniques in the assessment and trement of auditory and balance disorders.
Ability to perform functions associed with contemporary audiology scope of practice as defined by the American Academy of Audiology or the ASHA.
Ability to interact with pients, families and other health care professionals.

Experience . In addition to the requirements the GS-11 level, completion of one year of professional experience comparable to the next lower level. To receive credit, you must list hours worked per week and job tasks th demonstre work experience in your resume.

Major duties include, but are not limited to:
Independently performs the full range of audiological activities for the care of inpients and outpients presenting with the most difficult and complex hearing disorders, including those pients whose communicive abilities are compounded by emotional and/or extreme physical symptoms.
Conducts a full range of audiological evaluions to determine the type and degree of hearing loss, determines pients' need for amplificion, predicts and measures the effectiveness of amplificion, and determines need for and type of rehabilition and counseling of veterans with hearing loss and their families.
Develops coherent trement stregies.
Possesses knowledge of clinical services and the ability to perform them independently.
Conducts assessments, provides trement interventions.
Provides consultion to other health care professionals.
Possesses knowledge of, and performs functions associed with contemporary audiology practice.
Maintains pient records and other da required by the clinic, service, and medical center.

Educion. The individual must possess either of the below:
Doctor of Audiology (AuD) from an audiology program recognized by the Council on Academic Accredition (CAA) of the American Speech- Language-Hearing Associion (ASHA). The CAA is the only accredition agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Educion (USDE) and the Council for Higher Educion Accredition to accredit entry-level audiology programs. HR office staff and management officials may verify the program accredited from CAA www.caa.asha.org. You must submit a transcript showing you were awarded a doctoral degree th meets the sted requirements to receive credit. OR
Other doctoral degree in hearing science or a directly reled field from an institution accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Educion. You must submit a transcript showing you were awarded a doctoral degree th meets the sted requirements to receive credit. NOTE: Effective January 1, 2007, the CAA in Audiology and Speech- Language Phology of ASHA accredits only doctoral degree or AuD programs in audiology.
Foreign Educion. To be creditable, educion completed outside the U.S. must have been submitted to a prive organizion specializing in the interpretion of foreign educional credentials. Such educion must have been deemed least equivalent to th gained in conventional U.S. programs. You must submit your transcript showing you were awarded a doctoral degree and the documention from the prive organizion th determined your foreign educional credentials were least equivalent to a doctoral degree in audiology, hearing science, or a directly reled field th meets the above requirements to receive credit.
Licensure. Individuals must hold a full, current and unrestricted license to practice audiology the doctoral level in a United Stes ste, territory, commonwealth or the District of Columbia. You must provide an unexpired copy of your licensure to receive credit. Note: All audiologists who perform compension and pension examinions perform direct pient care duties and must possess a full, current and unrestricted license to practice audiology and must meet the experience requirements under Section 2. D. See 38 C.F.R. 4.85.
English Language Proficiency: Candides must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).
May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfhering Provision as described in the VA Qualificion Standard for this occupion (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupion and meet the criteria).
GRADE DETERMINATIONS: In addition to meeting the above Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Grade Determinion criteria below.
Audiologist, GS-11
Educion. None beyond the basic requirements.
Demonstred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs). In addition to the above the candides must demonstre all the following KSAs in their resume:
Knowledge of principles and techniques in the assessment and trement of auditory and balance disorders.
Ability to perform functions associed with contemporary audiology scope of practice as defined by the American Academy of Audiology or the ASHA.
Ability to interact with pients, families and other health care professionals.

Experience . In addition to the requirements the GS-11 level, completion of one year of professional experience comparable to the next lower level. To receive credit, you must list hours worked per week and job tasks th demonstre work experience in your resume.
