Description of Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations for patients across all age groups, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that meet immediate needs and work toward long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions, focusing on areas such as language, voice, fluency, and swallowing skills.
  • Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish unified care strategies.
  • Provide education to patients and their families that supports continuous progress outside of clinical settings.
  • Assist with periodic inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to ensure comprehensive care throughout the treatment continuum.
  • Keep comprehensive and accurate documentation adhering to state and federal regulations as well as organizational policies.
  • Engage in ongoing education and collaboration with peers to remain updated with advancements in the field.

Educational Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not ASHA-certified.

Certifications Required

  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Desirable: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within 30 days of hiring.
