Experience: One year experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant in an acute care or rehabilitation setting. Pediatrics and Home Health experience preferred.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy assistant with an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy

Therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. Good interpersonal skills.
Active state license as a physical therapist, or a multi-state license issued by a Physical Therapy Licensure Compact (PTLC) member state, or if licensure do not apply, meets one of the requirements listed in 42 CFR 484.115(h).
Duties: A Physical Therapy Assistant who provides coordinated physical therapy to patients of all age groups under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.
Administers the physical therapy treatment plan as developed by the Physical Therapist
Administers non-complex active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction, heat, light, cold, water and electrical modalities to patients.
Applies concepts of infection control and standard precautions in performing patient care activities.
Accepts clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients.
Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills
Meets mandatory continuing education requirements
Promotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third party payors, through education, coaching, and other assistance as necessary
Demonstrates commitment, professional growth, and competency.
