Description

  • Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized tests and observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment plans to meet both short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to design holistic care approaches.
  • Provide educational support to patients and their families to reinforce progress outside the clinical environment.
  • Engage in sporadic inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the entire therapeutic process.
  • Maintain comprehensive and timely medical records that comply with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Commit to professional growth by staying informed about the latest developments through continuing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • An accredited Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within 30 days post-employment.
