- Special Procedures Conducts special procedures including electrocardiograms (EKGs), arterial blood gas tests (ABG), pulmonary function tests and surfactant delivery. Assists physicians with conducting caesarean section births and high-risk deliveries and patient transport.
- Patient Education Educates patients and their caregivers about their conditions and teaches appropriate disease management techniques, such as breathing exercises or the use of medications or respiratory equipment. Clinical Support Performs clinical responsibilities based on Region and Facility, as required.

- Lung Expansion & Airway Clearance Therapies Performs incentive spirometry, PEP, & Flutter therapies on patients to facilitate airway clearance and lung expansion.
- Patient Assessment Performs thorough patient assessments, obtains history, and elicits an accurate description of sleep problems in order to diagnose and treat patients with science-based medicine.
- Oxygenation Delivers supplemental oxygen therapy, ensuring proper selection of the delivery device, to ensure adequate patient oxygenation.
- Ventilation Sets up and operates mechanical ventilators using invasive and/or non-invasive procedures on patients ranging from neonatal to adult; administers high frequency jet ventilation (HFJV), high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV), and conventional methods to deliver nitric oxide to patients.
- Scheduling Coordinates and drafts coworker shift schedules, ensuring adequate staffing coverage is available at all times.
- Performance Management Supervises the work of others and manages the performance of individuals through feedback and recommendations.
- People Management Activities Participates in people management activities for direct team members such as conducting performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and interviews.
- Documentation Reviews quality elements, dashboards, along with other key metrics to ensure accurate documentation.
- Resource Planning Plans for and manages equipment, supplies, and resources; ensures that appropriate staffing is in place to meet the needs of the department.
- Healthcare Competencies Collaborates with management to identify key Healthcare professional skills and competencies; sets and reinforces expectations around the development and performance of Healthcare competencies with coworkers.
- Emergency Response Attends code blue and rapid response team activation to perform or assist with airway management
- Patient Assessment Performs thorough patient assessments, obtains patient history, and elicits an accurate description of sleep problems in order to diagnose and treat patients with science-based medicine.
- Treatment Plans Evaluate patients' response to therapy and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans
- Machine Maintenance Ensures proper functioning and appropriate utilization of Respiratory Therapy equipment in use by patients. Assists in disassembling, cleaning, disinfecting, reassembling and storing of equipment.
- Required High School Diploma/GED
- Required 3 years Medical/Healthcare/Related Field
- Required Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Required Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Preferred Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
- Preferred Associate's Degree Respiratory Care Science
