Description

  • Create tailored intervention plans that enhance short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver individualized therapy sessions focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing proficiency.
  • Engage with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, doctors, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive care models.
  • Educate patients and families to encourage progress beyond clinical interactions.
  • Contribute to inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions when needed, preserving continuity of care through every step of recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Stay current with advancements in the industry through continuing education and teamwork.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not attained yet.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days post-employment.
