We're seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to provide evidence-based, person-centered therapy to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across our outpatient clinic, day, and residential programs.

 

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

  • On-site position, weekdays.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Salary range $71,000-$82,000/year (exempt).  
  • Salary based on skills and experience.
  • Quarterly bonus potential.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Deliver 1:1 OT services to clients of all ages.
  • Maintain a caseload of 35 clients per week with 120+ billable hours per month.
  • Conduct evaluations, create treatment plans, and deliver progress reports.
  • Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Support clients through home programming and caregiver education.
  • Participate in trainings, staff meetings, and team collaboration.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

WHAT YOU BRING:

Education/Training:

  • Master's or doctorate degree in occupational therapy.
  • Current, unrestricted, active occupationl therapy license with the state of Illinois.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience working with individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Experience supervising Level I and Level II occupational therapy students (preferred).

Skill Sets:

  • Ability to fulfill all necessary training requirements of the agency, including but not limited to, crisis management (crisis mangagement training includes de-escalataion strategies and physical management techniques).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Proficient and comfortable with technology such as Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize multiple priorities as required.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and proof of ongoing personal motor vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to promote and adhere to company values.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about to assist clients/students, access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. 
  • The ability to observe details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer). 
  • Consistently position self to maintain files in file cabinets or assist clients/students. 
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.  Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. 
  • The person in this position may encounter clients exhibiting physical aggression; must be comfortable working in periods of crisis and feel comfortable de-escalating individually or as a team.
