Summary:
UNC Health Care is recruiting for a Pediatric Physical Therapist, to work with our experienced multidisciplinary pediatric team serving N.C. Children's Hospital located on the beautiful campus of UNC Chapel Hill.

We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and team-oriented physical therapist to join our neonatal therapy team in our Level IV NICU. This position primarily serves the neonatal patient population, with occasional follow-up on pediatric floors and in the Special Infant Care Clinic. The patient caseload will be complex and variable.
The Physical Therapist is expected to demonstrate strong assessment, critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills. They should be proficient at treatment planning , therapeutic interventions, and collaboration within the multidisciplinary team, consistent with the position's requirements, professional practice guidelines and ethical standards.
In addition, this role may serve as faculty for the NICU PT Fellowship program, in collaboration with the other members of the multidisciplinary neonatal team.
Preferred qualifications: Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy through APTA or graduate of ABPTRFE-accredited NICU fellowship; Level IV NICU experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
Assessment - Perform comprehensive developmental assessments of infants ranging from 23 weeks gestation through full and post term. Utilize assessment findings to provide specialized, evidenced based treatment interventions for premature and critically ill infants.Education - Supervise and mentor clinical fellows/residents. Develops and/or contributes to innovative programs to enhance neonatal patient care and outcomes. Serve as resource or mentor to other clinicians in respective specialty area. Provide appropriate education to family, staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team as it related to neonatal and infant development.Evaluation of Care - Analyzes results of diagnostic and or therapeutic testing to establish patient goals and or modify subsequent treatment programs. Identifies expected patient outcomes. Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care. Outreach/Community Involvement - Serve as resource to North Carolina government departments and statewide health professionals in specialty area. Present at local (university/hospital) or state level and participate in community health screening and events. Participate in the development of new clinical programs to meet emerging needs within specialty area, pediatric therapy department or Rehabilitation Service line. Participation - Contributes to quality of clinical services through attendance and participation in departmental meetings, committees and in-services. Also participate in weekly NICU rounds. Quality - Contribute to quality of clinical services through maintenance of valid & reliable documentation within the EMR. Participate in quality improvement initiatives with pediatric therapy team members and colleagues in the NICU. Participate in continuous quality improvement efforts within the Rehabilitation Services department.

Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina.
