Reports to: Director of Occupational Therapy/Clinic Director

Job Summary:

The Staff Occupational Therapist provides highquality, patientcentered occupational therapy services to individuals with functional limitations, injuries, or disabilities. This role is responsible for evaluating patients, developing individualized treatment plans, implementing evidencebased interventions, and collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team to support optimal outcomes. The Staff Occupational Therapist upholds Arete Health's standards of clinical excellence, patient experience, and professional integrity.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess functional abilities, deficits, and patient goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidencebased treatment plans.
  • Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic activities, manual therapy, modalities, ADL retraining, cognitive/perceptual training, and functional workrelated tasks.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, safety, and selfmanagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, physicians, and support staff to coordinate holistic patient care.
  • Document evaluations, daily notes, and progress reports accurately and in compliance with regulatory and payer standards.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to maximize functional outcomes.
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and qualityimprovement initiatives.
  • Maintain licensure, continuing education, and professional competence per state and organizational requirements.

Caseload focused on the treatment of hand and upper extremity injuries

Focus on the treatment of acute and post surgical hand and upper extremity conditions

Patient focused care

Communication and collaboration with hand surgeons

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active state Occupational Therapist license (or eligibility).

Experience treating hand and upper extremity injuries preferred. Mentorship available.

CHT preferred but willing to mentor

  • Previous outpatient experience preferred but not required.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and evidencebased treatment skills in outpatient occupational therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to effectively manage a caseload and maintain timely, accurate documentation.
  • Comfort working in a fastpaced outpatient setting with diverse patient populations.
  • Familiarity with therapy equipment, adaptive devices, and standard therapeutic techniques.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems (Prompt experience a plus).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, assist, and transfer patients as required
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and manual therapy activities
  • Ability to demonstrate therapeutic exercises and techniques
