Category Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide exceptional care within a renowned healthcare center boasting 247 licensed beds, a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center designation, and specialized services as a Chest Pain and Certified Stroke Center. This teaching hospital setting offers a dynamic, resource-rich environment that values your expertise and commitment. Schedule and Hours: 12-hour night shifts (36 hours/week) Shift time: 1900-0700 Every other weekend rotation 75% holiday coverage expected No on-call requirements Scheduling cycle: every 6 weeks Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years' experience in respiratory therapy, preferably with resource team experience Valid NC Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications Comfort and demonstrated experience with IPPV/NIPPV ventilators and caring for neonate, pediatric, and adult patients Able to work in diverse clinical settings including ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and general medical floors Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the home unit Key Responsibilities: Deliver respiratory care services hospital-wide to a range of age groups Collaborate with respiratory leadership and multidisciplinary teams Operate EPIC EMR and department-specific ventilator equipment Maintain high standards of patient care in a fast-paced teaching environment Benefits: Supportive leadership and structured orientation (NEO and two days departmental) Free on-site parking Royal blue scrubs provided Travelers are not floated to outside facilities Seize this chance to grow your skills in a collaborative and supportive hospital environment.
