Cardiopulmonary Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY: Lead and manage the Cardiopulmonary Servicesdepartment to deliver safe, high-quality respiratory, cardiac, and sleep labservices. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards (ACHC,Wyoming state licensure), and budget goals while supervising staff andmaintaining equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBIILITIES:
Oversee daily operations of Respiratory Therapy, Cardiac Rehab, Sleep Lab, EKG, Holter monitoring, stress testing, pulmonary function testing.
Develop, update, and enforce department policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Perform and teach all respiratory care procedures; serve as clinical resource for staff, physicians, and nursing.
Manage staffing: interview, hire, train, schedule, evaluate, coach, and discipline employees.
Create and monitor annual budget; control costs, approve purchases, negotiate equipment/service contracts.
Maintain preventive maintenance program for all equipment; ensure safety standards and proper storage/repair.
Coordinate services with physicians, nursing, and other departments.
Conduct staff meetings, in-service training, and competency programs.
Collect and report departmental statistics, quality metrics, and invoices.
Attend hospital committees and represent the department.
Respond to patient/staff complaints and resolve issues per hospital policy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Expert in respiratory therapy, ventilation management, ABG collection and analysis, cardiology procedures, pulmonary function testing, and related equipment
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and infection control
Budget development and financial management
Principles of staff supervision, training, and performance management
Regulatory standards (ACHC, CMS, state licensure)
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Cerner EMR, email, and calendar systems
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze data, develop policies, and implement change
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Current Wyoming State License
NBRC credential (RRT preferred; CRT accepted)
BLS and ACLS required (within 6 months of hire)
PALS strongly preferred
At least 4 years of experience as a respiratory therapist
Minimum 1-year supervisory experience in cardiopulmonary services
