Step into an engaging contract opportunity supporting students communication and classroom success in a dynamic school setting. This onsite role spans the academic year from early August through late May, serving primarily elementary and middle school students. As a speech-language pathologist, your expertise will make a meaningful impact across one or two schools, with a manageable caseload of approximately 60 students.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) or clinical fellowship eligibility (CF)
- Alabama state SLP license
- Valid professional educator certification for Alabama (see official state site for verification)
- Ability to supervise if CCC is held
- Experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver assessments, therapy, and progress monitoring for students with communication disorders
- Develop, implement, and update individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to optimize student outcomes
- Provide supervision for clinical fellows, if qualified
- Travel between two nearby schools if needed
- Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with district and state guidelines
