What youll do:

The Occupational Therapy Aide (OCA) functions as a member of the Cedar Lake Lodge Therapeutic Services Team. The OCA shall assist the Occupational Therapy staff in the overall coordination of financial records, therapeutic guidelines, departmental schedules and other duties as assigned.

  • Ensure DSP staff are educated and trained on individual OT goals, objectives and guidelines.
  • Assist DSP staff with feeding and other activities of daily living, training on guidelines and memos as deemed appropriate by Occupational Therapists.
  • Assisting with individual meals and transfers as needed and assigned.
  • Bring questions and concerns related to training programs and suite concerns to the Occupational Therapist for evaluation and/or follow up.
  • Coordination and distribution of all OT goals, memos, guidelines, etc. to ensure the information throughout the facility is up to date and accurate at all times. This includes keeping individual binders up to date at all times related to OT.
  • Assist Occupational Therapists and/or COTAs with treatments and programs as needed.
  • Assist with class program coordination and activities.
  • Perform treatments as assigned.
  • Attend facility meetings as assigned.
  • Manage all OT budget accounts including ordering of equipment, maintaining departmental receipts and records, as well as ordering items on the Capital Expense report in a timely fashion.
  • Complete the OT monthly expense report in a timely manner. All records must be accurate.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all OT equipment and ensure equipment is in good working order.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Complete required in-services job training.
  • Perform other related work as assigned by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Perform other related work as assigned by the Associate Administrator.

What sets you apart:

  • High school Diploma/GED or equivalent is required.
  • At least 1 year of working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and interest in Occupational Therapy is preferred.
  • Valid drivers license is required.

What your typical schedule looks like:

  • Full-time, hourly, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday that varies according to need (7a-3pm, 8am-4pm, or 9am-5pm). Includes occasional additional hours and weekend hours as necessary.
