Responsibilities
The Supervisor is responsible for assisting in planning, directing, and coordinating operational and personnel activities to ensure the provision of quality services to meet the needs of those served by his/her area(s) of responsibility and scope of role. Leadership is provided based on the Mayo Clinics mission, vision, and values. The role includes ongoing collaboration and communication utilizing shared goal setting and decision making with physicians, associate providers, department staff, and multidisciplinary team members. The Supervisor will maintain a professional environment and on-going development of his/herself and staff. The Supervisor applies current leadership and management theories to daily management of team. Assists in the development and implementation of operational plans.
Qualifications- Minimum 4 years as a respiratory therapist.
Graduate from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
- The National Board for Respiratory Care - Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Current Arizona Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
- Supervisory experience.
- Vascular Access- Board Certified (VA-BC) credential.
- 3 year's experience as a Vascular Access Specialist.
Bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy or healthcare related field or must be actively pursuing a bachelors degree. Actively pursuing is defined as meeting the admitting Universitys qualification as an active student. Bachelor's degree completed within 2 years of hire.
- Pediatric Life Support (PALS) required if the department interacts with a pediatric population.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required if the department interacts with this the newborn population.
- For those working in Pulmonary Function testing, the RPFT credential is required upon hire or within one year of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Demonstrates Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Demonstrates skills in leadership, problem solving, continuous improvement, verbal and written communication, and team building.
- Additional NBRC specialty credentials.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Function with initiative and independent judgment.
- Desire for continuous quality improvement.
