Duties
- Assess and evaluate student's skills in the area of fine and gross motor
- Provide direct and/or consultative services to students
- Present recommendations for programming and develop annual goals for students
- Confer with parents, administrator and other professionals to develop therapy goals
- Implement goals, assess students' performance and track their progress
- Discuss students' progress with parents, teachers and administrator
- Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports as required by laws, policies and administrative regulations
- Assist in collection of data for providing appropriate interventions
- Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team
- Monitor assistive and adaptive equipment needs of students
- Participate in staff development and training
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education/Certification
- Graduation from physical therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
- Current Licensure to practice physical therapy in the State of Illinois
Experience
- Prior experience with children with developmental disabilities preferred
Skill, Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting
- Must be able to establish verbal and written communication skills with a variety of stakeholders
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment and resources
- Demonstrated capabilities in leadership
- Knowledge of Data collection
