We are hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a travel contract role in Tucson, AZ at a hospital. Under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will assist patients in regaining skills needed for daily activities. Apply if you are committed to patient-centered care and teamwork. Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college.
  • Active AZ State license required to start the assignment.
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
  • Experience conducting individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an OT.
  • Experience documenting progress notes and daily notes according to departmental timeframes.
  • Ability to follow safety, infection control, and isolation guidelines.
  • Experience collaborating in interdisciplinary team conferences and discharge planning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an acute hospital or inpatient rehabilitation environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with safe patient handling and materials handling preferred.

Assignment Details

  • Shift pattern: 5x8.
  • May be required to float to other facilities as needed.

Impacting Patient Care

Perform patient therapy under OT supervision and modify treatment during sessions in collaboration with the OT. Participate in team processes, complete timely documentation, and follow facility guidelines for personal appearance, attendance, and safety. Promote continuous quality improvement and contribute to discharge planning and patient/family education. Maintain flexibility in scheduling and attend appropriate team conferences.
