Under the supervision of the Respirory Care Services Medical Director and Clinical Coordinor, the Respirory Therapist is responsible for providing respirory care services in accordance with specific physicians orders, department policies and procedures.
Core Job Responsibilities- Complete physician prescribed respirory care modalities while demonstring a conscientious approach in their administrion to the pient
- Verify correct and approprie orders and takes action to clarify any discrepancies. Consistently responds to outcome of therapy and pursues any necessary changes to provide the most accure drug dosage delivery device
- Gher approprie informion for a basis for evaluion, recommendions and trements
- Document all relive informion of pient assessments/trements/educion, on the approprie form in a legible and complete manner.
- Thoroughly instruct pients and uses pient handouts when approprie
- Assure respirory equipment is set up correctly and opering properly. Alerts lead tech or supervisor of any discrepancies or questions. Follows up on lost or broken equipment with approprie explanion.
- Demonstre the ability to interpret ABG values and communices values to physicians making suggestions for improvement.
- Perform other duties as required.
REQUIRED:
- Gradue of an AMA approved school of respirory care and/or certified or registered by the NBRC
PREFERRED:
- 3-5 years experience in hospital setting
REQUIRED:
- Current NYS respirory therapist or technician license
- BLS/CPR certificion
