Incentive: The full-time position qualifies for a $10,000 commitment incentive with a 12-month work commitment.

Salary Range: $35.87 - $55.43 per hour (Hiring Range). Pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity.

The Audiologist provides evidence-based evaluation, treatment interventions, and educational instruction to patients and caregivers for individuals with hearing impairment. The clinician provides student shadowing, clinical instruction, and participates in departmental and community continuing education and outreach.

Responsibilities:

  1. Completes Audiology documentation, billing, and statistics per department guidelines. Manages daily caseload with efficiency and efficacy. Meets productivity standards per team guidelines. Provides services across multiple clinical locations as assigned.

  2. Performs basic and complex diagnostic testing to assess auditory, vestibular, and related conditions. Analyzes and interprets results of diagnostic testing to establish patient goals and manage treatment programs. Counsels patients and families regarding hearing loss, implications, and rehabilitation options. Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.

  3. For those with relevant expertise and in clinics offering applicable services:

  • Performs electrophysiologic testing (ABR, ASSR, intraoperative monitoring).
  • Performs newborn and pediatric hearing screenings, behavioral assessments (VRA, CPA), and age-appropriate testing methods.
  • Provides amplification services, including hearing aid evaluation, fitting, verification (real ear measures), and follow-up care.
  • Administers comprehensive cochlear implant evaluations, programming, and management.
  • Administers middle ear implant evaluations, programming, and management.
  • Administers auditory brainstem implant (ABI) evaluations, programming, and management.
  • Performs tinnitus assessment and management.
  • Performs vestibular assessment and management.
  1. Provides clinical precepting and teaching for students and externs under the guidance of the clinical specialist or other subject matter experts. Provides regular feedback, coaching and mentoring. Evaluates the learner's performance.

  2. Assists in the planning and coordinating of clinical programs in collaboration with the clinical specialist, supervisor, or manager. Participates in continuous improvement in clinical services by attending and participating in departmental meetings and in-services.

Education Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Audiology program.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

  • Licensed as an Audiologist by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
  • BLS within 3 months of hire date.

Professional Experience Requirements:

  • Audiologist I: Audiologist experience preferred.
  • Audiologist II: Must have five years of experience as an audiologist.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse customer, colleague, and vendor population. This includes listening, sales, and problem solving skills. Strong keyboard/computer/Audiology diagnostic and hearing aid software and equipment experience. Must be able to organize time and prioritize numerous duties. Must deal with customers in a caring and respectful manner.
  • Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to maximize patient outcomes
