The Speech Language Pathologist at EHM Senior Solutions will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in senior patients. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by improving their communication abilities and ensuring they can engage effectively with others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in senior patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each patient.
- Provide direct therapy services to patients, focusing on improving speech, language, and communication skills.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on communication strategies and techniques to support ongoing improvement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient progress and treatment plans.
- Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in speech therapy to continually enhance service delivery.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices within the therapy department.QualificationsRequired Education:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Michigan.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist, preferably in a senior care or healthcare setting.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective speech therapy programs for individuals with various speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Experience in conducting assessments and creating individualized treatment plans.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of speech and language pathology principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proficient in using assessment tools and therapy techniques for speech and language disorders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple cases efficiently.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care, with a commitment to improving patients' quality of life.
- Experience with Wellsky/Kinnser preferred
