Associate of Arts degree supplemented by completion of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Passed a national examination administered by the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCO) and hold a current California certificate issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy or, possess a current California COTA limited permit while completing the NBCOT examination in order to obtain a California certificate issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy. One year of experience providing occupational therapy services, assisting children having mild to severe learning, emotional and/or physical disabilities or in some instances multiple disabilities or dual diagnosis. Familiarity with individual, group, and consultative occupational therapy models. Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with parents, family members, district personnel, and Occupational Therapists.
