Minimum Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational program.
  • Completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and current Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA, or consideration for CFY-level candidates with relevant experience as noted below (preferred).
  • Active Georgia state SLP license already in hand is required to start the assignment. Georgia licensure processing may be lengthy; candidate must hold current GA license.
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required. Experience treating CVA, Parkinsons disease, cancer-related deficits, debility, cognitive-communication disorders, and dysphagia is required.
  • Competency in dysphagia management and instrumental exam collaboration. Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS) competency is a hard requirement.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
  • Experience working with adult inpatient populations including short-term sub-acute rehab, acute care, and ICU preferred.
  • Preferred certifications: VitalStim and LSVT LOUD (preferred, not required).
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RNs, CNAs, Rapid Response/Code team, and therapy staff.

Assignment Details

  • Facility Type: Hospital (Inpatient Rehabilitation, short-term sub-acute, acute care and ICU coverage).
  • Shift Name: Days.
  • Shift Details: Day Shift. Typical hours MondayFriday, 08:0017:00; manager may allow adjustment.
  • Standard Hours Per Week: 40.
  • Duration: 13-week travel assignment.
  • Orientation: Five-day new employee orientation with co-treat and ramp-up as needed.
  • Floating: May float to outpatient when needed; advance notice provided.
  • Weekend/Holiday Expectations: Weekend rotation and holiday coverage are not required; manager may pick up weekends or holidays if desired.
