Huntington University invites applications for the position of Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for Occupational Therapy Assistant
Program.
This faculty role is responsible for the development, coordination, and evaluation of fieldwork education to ensure students
receive high-quality, compliant experiences that support program outcomes and meet accreditation standards established by the Accreditation
Council for Occupational Therapy Education (2023). Faculty align fieldwork coordination with the university mission, curricular philosophy,
and professional standards while contributing to student learning and ongoing program assessment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a strong personal Christian commitment and faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to serve others.
Must be committed to the
mission of Huntington University as a comprehensive Christian College dedicated to educating men and women to impact our world for
Christ.
Demonstrated understanding of Christian higher education, preferred.
Commitment to continuous process
improvement
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience and a
bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (degree may be in a different field)
Current NBCOT certification and Indiana
licensure required
Must not hold a master's or doctoral degree in occupational therapy
A master's or doctoral degree in
a field other than occupational therapy from an accredited institution is preferred
Evidence of clinical practice and engagement
with professional healthcare organizations
Demonstrated organizational skills, including diligence in managing agreements and
documentation
Ability to work effectively with a broad range of clinical partners and organizations
Strong
interpersonal, written communication, and collaboration skills
Experience in teaching, supervision, or student mentoring
preferred
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
10-month contract
The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator
oversees Level I and Level II fieldwork placements
Builds and maintains clinical partnerships, and coordinates student placement
processes, including site matching and scheduling
Monitors student progress
Maintains fieldwork documentation,
agreements, and conducts site visits as needed
Supports accreditation reporting and continuous improvement
Responsible
for the program's compliance with fieldwork education requirements
This role includes a limited but regular teaching assignment
within the OTA program
One clinic day per week is granted to maintain skills needed for patient/client care, professional
development, and continued proficiency in occupational therapy practice
Participate in University committees and other regular
faculty activities as expected or required.
Perform all duties and requirements as stated in the Faculty Handbook as a faculty
member.
Perform other duties as assigned by the OTA Program Director.
