Were hiring an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in York, PA where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The Respiratory Therapist provides intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision. Duties include conducting physician-prescribed treatments, operating ventilatory equipment, performing suctioning, oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and assisting with procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement. The role includes tracheostomy care, arterial puncture, 12-lead EKGs, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, mechanical ventilation setup and monitoring, documentation of treatments and patient responses, and communication with physicians and shift teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
  • Current state Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
  • Minimum one year experience as an RRT in an acute care or hospital setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience operating and maintaining mechanical ventilators and other advanced respiratory equipment, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
  • Ability to perform arterial puncture, 12-lead EKG, oximetry, and capnography.
  • Experience with suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal), tracheostomy care, and assisting with respiratory procedures (e.g., bronchoscopy, chest tube care).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Experience with pulmonary function testing and interpreting chest x-rays relevant to respiratory care.
  • Experience working in moderate to high acuity hospital environments or intensive care units.

Assignment Details

  • Night shift schedule: 3x12.
