Speech Pathologist Consultant Therapy Center - Stamford, CT 06905 Apply Overview Salary Range $80.00 Hourly Apply Description Position : Speech Language Pathologist Consultant Program Assignment : Therapeutic Services Supervisor : Director of Therapeutic Services Schedule : part-time consultant, flexible schedule Job Summary : As a Speech Language Pathologist Consultant at The Therapy Center at Abilis, you will play a critical role in helping young children of all ages with a variety of communication and/or feeding challenges. You will work closely with families and their children to evaluate, develop, and implement therapy plans that promote growth and development. This role offers the opportunity to work in our brand-new therapy space, located at 78 Harvard Avenue! Proficiency in Spanish, experience with feeding therapy and/or AAC knowledge is preferred. Responsibilities : Conduct comprehensive assessments for children to identify communication and feeding delays or concerns. Utilize a variety of testing tools and methods to accurately evaluate each child's needs in these areas within the pediatric population. Provide direct therapy speech and language services within our clinic while fostering a supportive environment for children and their families. Develop creative, effective, and individualized strategies to promote communication and/or feeding skill development. Collaborate with families to develop, implement and revise goals and objectives that focus on enhancing the child's communication or feeding skills. Engage in ongoing communication with caregivers and other professionals to ensure cohesive and coordinated care. Maintain detailed and accurate records, including daily notes, progress updates, and other required documentation to be in compliance with insurance, state and federal regulations. Ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely manner and reflects the child's progress and any adjustments to the therapy plan. Stay current with best practices as a speech language pathologist and/or feeding specialist through continuing education and professional development opportunities. Qualifications A master's degree in Speech Language Pathology is required. New graduates are welcome! American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certification of Clinical Competence Current Connecticut Department of Public Health License in Speech Language Pathology Bilingual skills in Spanish, both written and spoken skills are preferred. Experience working with children is preferred. Excellent organization and time management skills. Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and team members. Knowledge and skills with AAC devices are preferred.
