Key Qualifications:
Registration and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists/Physiotherapist of Ontario required
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in assessing and treating the acute hand/wrist injuries required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Experience providing services with a strong quality improvement focus required
Patient centred approach to delivery of excellent patient care services
Evidence of continuing education, professional and personal development required
Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional able to work effectively and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team required
Exercises initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task required
Strong ability to successfully coach, develop and mentor allied health professionals and physicians to improve program quality required
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills required
Position Summary:
The role requires assessment and treatment of acute hand injuries within a rehab and surgical clinic environment.
Interdisciplinary assessment and treatment of patients within surgical clinic and rehab
Supervision of PTA/OTA
Work as part of an interdisciplinary team model providing evidence based, outcome-oriented care and recommendations
Provides therapy services in keeping with the respective College guidelines and standards of practice
Participates in continuous quality improvement and evaluation including various projects
Contributes to the overall vision/mandate of the Program
Supervision of students as required
