Children's Clinics is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist. SUMMARY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS + Provides comprehensive occupational therapy services to eligible patient's age birth to young adult, including those with feeding/swallowing limitations, developmental delays and congenital conditions, sensory integration impairments, fine motor coordination, vision/perception Activity of Daily Living limitations, custom or pre-fabricated splinting, and DME needs + Evaluates for and fabricates upper extremity splints; provides patient/family instruction in care and use + Conducts age-appropriate evidenced based clinical and functional occupational therapy assessments and develops therapy treatment plans based upon objective findings and progress in therapy; while also including patient and family input and goals + Provides Occupational Therapy consultations, screenings, and care coordination while attending multidisciplinary specialty clinics + Serves as educator in appropriate areas to patients, families, clinic staff, school staff, and others involved in patient care and programming + Supervises support personnel, including COTA , according to state, national, and professional guidelines + Documents all assessments, treatments, consultations, patient/family education, and all relevant and required patients care information in the electronic health record in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with clinic policies + Participates in new staff orientation and ongoing staff education; mentors and provides training on areas of expertise or specialty as requested by Department Manager, Performs other duties as required and assigned KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES + Knowledge of a variety of therapeutic treatment techniques for pediatric occupational therapy + Ability to assess and treat feeding/swallowing disorders of patients with complex medical conditions, and to make recommendations about feeding to families, physicians, and other professionals + Knowledge of fundamentals of pediatric upper extremity splinting and ability to assess patient's splinting needs as part of an interdisciplinary team (physician, orthotist, and therapist) + Ability to assess patient's needs for adaptive tools/equipment and durable medical equipment, and to determine patient's optimal access to environmental controls, communication devices, and mobility + Ability to participate in collaborative opportunities with other clinical providers in Aquatic Therapy and Adaptive Recreation programs at offsite facilities + Skills in appropriate and safe use of suspended equipment and other equipment typically used in management of patients with sensory integration difficulties + Ability to demonstrate safe patient lifting and transfers practices including, including the use of equipment (ex: sliding board, Hoyer lift) to assist with patient lifting + Ability to safely and effectively use mechanical equipment for the provision of occupational therapy care + Knowledge of evidence-based approaches to planning and providing pediatric occupational therapy; experience in measuring and reporting clinical and functional outcomes of care to parents, physicians, and other professionals + Knowledge of corporate, local, state, and national regulatory requirements and ability to execute job duties consistent with them + Ability to reliably select billing codes for therapy services rendered that are accurate and consistent with payer regulations + Knowledge of AOTA , ArizOTA and NBCOT guidelines and practice in accordance with said guidelines + Skill in professional communication with staff and physicians involved in care, to ensure quality patient outcomes and care coordination + Ability to operate personal computer and related office equipment as needed to perform job function + Medical, Dental, Vision + 401(k) with company match + Group Term Life in addition to voluntary life insurance + Corporate Care (sick child/adult/pet and tutoring support) + Pet Care program + Tuition reimbursement + Paid Holidays, Paid Sick and Paid Time Off + Supplemental insurance + Flexible Work Strategies (depending on position) + And more Qualifications AHCCCS BLS AGE PATIENTS ATTENDED EMPLOYEE THIS POSITION X X X FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN CATEGORY To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
