A New York City-based special education organization is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) for a pediatric setting in Manhattan. This role supports students with complex physical and neurological needs through direct therapy, care coordination, and individualized education planning. About the Opportunity: Shift: Day shift Schedule: Monday through Friday Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Setting: In-person Responsibilities: Assess students' functional status using standardized clinical tools and ongoing evaluation methods. Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans based on assessment findings and student progress. Prepare and update Individualized Education Programs and related documentation in a timely manner. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including educators, therapists, nurses, and paraprofessionals. Provide direct therapy, caregiver education, and documentation to support student outcomes. Qualifications: Valid New York State Physical Therapist license or eligibility for licensure in New York State. At least 2 years of clinical experience in pediatric physical therapy with children who have brain-based disorders or neurological involvement. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to take initiative, remain flexible, and work effectively as part of a team. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds independently. Desired Skills: Experience working with medically fragile children and adolescents. Background supporting students with traumatic brain injury or intellectual and developmental disabilities. Research experience and NDT training.
