Job Summary:

The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for safely and effectively administering all phases of respiratory care per departmental procedures.

• Performs accurate patient assessment for respiratory care, reviews patient information and recommends appropriate therapy to the ordering physician.
• Administers respiratory medications via SVN, MDI & DPI, performs cardiopulmonary testing (EKG, PFT), sets up, maintains, and manages non invasive positive pressure devices and ventilators
• Records accurate therapy and medication administration in medical record timely
• Educates patients on respiratory care procedures
• Records therapy and medication administration electronically

Certification:

• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
• ACLS current certification
• PALS current certification or within 90 days of hire
• NRP current or within 90 days of hire

Licenses

• Respiratory Therapist - Certified Respiratory Care Therapist OR Registered Respiratory Therapist
• .May be either a Certified Technician or a Registered Therapist
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 2+ years Critical Care experience preferred
• Minimum 2+ years experience in a Respiratory Department preferred

Certification:

• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
• ACLS current certification
• PALS current certification or within 90 days of hire
• NRP current or within 90 days of hire

Licenses
