- Provides general supervision for Clinical Services staff to include Mental Health Therapists, MICA and assigned staff/interns/volunteers related to scheduling and staffing needs.
- Conducts Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) on services provided by the Clinical Services Department.
- Provides individual, couple, family, and/or group sessions in accordance with the developed treatment plan.
- Ensure documentation or reviews is based on treatment plan goals/objectives and reflects progress or failure to progress towards goals.
- Monitor and aid in develop therapeutic treatment programs that benefit our patients in their recovery.
- Assists in developing Policies and Procedures for the Clinical Services Department to meet hospital requirements.
- Participates as a member of the Patient Treatment Team, individualizing patients treatment as needed.
- Cross-trained to be able to cover all programming areas of relevant Clinical Services.
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
- Schedule daily work assignments for all subordinates to ensure that patients' goals are being addressed and that all programs operate on schedule.
Education:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
Licensure/Certifications:
None.
Experience:
Three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience providing rehabilitation, psychiatric, recreational, or occupational therapy. Employment in a psychiatric or health care setting that does not involve therapy will not qualify.
Experience Substitution:
Registration as a Therapeutic Recreation Assistant or a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist as certified through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.

The hospital offers a wide range of services to patients, including those committed to the hospital through civil commitment and, for forensic patients, those ordered by the judicial system. Through ongoing collaboration with West Virginia Universitys Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry, a variety of medical and clinical professionals partner with the hospitals staff to work diligently with patients to achieve a smooth transition back to the community after discharge.
