Step into a rewarding opportunity providing vital support to students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school-based setting. This full-time, contract role runs from August through June and offers a chance to work closely with a diverse group of 21 students ranging in age, many of whom are blind or visually impaired and present with multiple disabilities. Your expertise will make a direct impact by delivering individualized therapy that supports communication and development.
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid state licensure or eligibility
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) considered
- Experience or strong interest in pediatric populations and school-based settings
- Skills in teletherapy and/or healthcare strongly preferred
- Background working with visually impaired and multi-disabled students is a significant plus
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy tailored to the unique needs of each student on your caseload
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Utilize a variety of intervention techniques to address communication and feeding/swallowing needs
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support teams to maximize student potential
- Ensure compliance with all documentation and reporting policies
- Offer support via in-person and possible teletherapy services as needed
