JOB SUMMARY:
The Music Therapist is responsible for providing group, individual, or family supportive therapy services to children and adolescents residing within RCHSD facilities or treatment areas. Develops and implements music therapy curriculum informed by the evidence-based models utilized on the unit. Collaborates with other interdisciplinary team members to develop and/or integrate individualized treatment plans. Develops suitable music programs for patients based on their needs, objectives, and preferred forms of creative expression.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in music therapy from an American Music Therapy Association approved University
1 Year of Experience
BLS for Health Providers (AHA)
Board Certified Music Therapy credential or eligibility. Application for certification to be completed within one year of hire and each year thereafter until certification is obtained.
Additional certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Music Therapy will be required if working in NICU
Internship, fieldwork, or volunteer experience in the pediatric setting
Demonstrated commitment to respecting differences and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in music therapy form an American Music Therapy Association approved university
2 Years of Experience
Two (2) years of professional experience as a music therapist
Previous experience with a variety of pediatric populations, including children with developmental disabilities, chronic illnesses, acute medical conditions, or mental health conditions
Bilingual skills in English and Spanish
The current salary range for this position is $28.09 to $38.62
