Responsibilities:

* Demonstrated ability to evaluate and develop an individualized plan of care for patients establishing goals of treatment and a plan for discharge; taking into consideration the patients' needs and limitations.

* Demonstrates appropriate skill and care in the treatment and management of patients.

* Treats patient's disorders according to developed policies and procedures.

* Consults with attending physician concerning the patient's needs and limitations, goals, plan of care, progress, and discharge plans.

* Coordinates, delegates, and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (Physical Therapy Assistants, Rehab Techs, etc.).

* Provides written home care programs for patients to follow.

* Develops a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and assesses effectiveness of educational strategies; family and/or caregivers should be included in teaching, as appropriate.

* Demonstrates accuracy and efficiency documenting treatment information. Documentation will be timely and completed properly and will include response to treatment and objective measurements.

* Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and family.

* Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Maintains department cleanliness and safety.

* Maintains current knowledge of all aspects of Rehabilitation treatment strategies. Seeks to improve skills through in-services, seminars, educational meetings, education.

* Is flexible with worked hours to meet department and facility needs.

* Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Requirements:

* Must hold an active license to practice Physical Therapy in the State of Missouri or a permit from the licensing board to practice while waiting for the licensure examination.

* Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or preapproved provider.

* 1+ years' experience is preferred.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing, and administering of physical therapy modalities and treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department.
