Key Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program and current certification
- Active state licensure to practice as a COTA
- Prior school-based or pediatric experience preferred, but not required
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to follow therapy protocols
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, educators, and families
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt therapy approaches to meet individual student needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide therapy services under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, both individually and in groups
- Implement activities that support students development of fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills
- Document student progress and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Assist in creating and modifying adaptive equipment or classroom modifications as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and actively contribute to student goal planning
- Support inclusive and positive classroom environments through creative interventions
