Clinical Educators (Adjunct Lecturer) - Speech-Language Pathology
FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences invites applications for several part-time Clinical Educator positions which begin in the Fall 2026. Candidates must possess a strong commitment to clinical education and clinical supervision/mentorship in speech-language pathology. Clinical Educator openings include the following:
MW 3-6 PM, Across the Lifespan Clinic
TUTH 10-1PM, Spanish Adult Neurogenic Clinic
TUTH 3-6 PM, Language and Literacy Clinic
Applicants for each of these positions should have a broad range of clinical experiences in intervention and assessment as noted below:
Language and Literacy Clinic: Experience with school-age clients who present with reading and written language disorders. Working knowledge of SPELL-Links and SPIRE is desired.
Across the Lifespan Clinic: Experience with a variety of treatments and a variety of communication disorders including but not limited to voice, fluency, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disability, and motor speech disorders.
Spanish Adult Neurogenic Clinic: Experience with aphasia, dysarthria, TBI and conducting individual and conversational groups in Spanish. Fluency in Spanish is required.
For each of these opportunities, strong clinical writing skills and highly effective interpersonal, professional, interprofessional, and culturally responsive communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will be expected to provide clinical education through mentorship of clinical practicum coursework in the Speech and Hearing Center. Experience in higher education and commitment to clinician development and supervision, collaborative team building, and sustaining inclusive, respectful, and culturally responsive clinical learning environments is preferred.
Department/University Description:
The Program in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences at Lehman College currently offers a B.A. degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and M.A. degrees in Speech-Language Pathology, Speech-Language Pathology with Bilingual Extension, and Speech-Language Pathology with Teacher Certification. The M.A. program is accredited by The Council of Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology as well as the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.
Preferred: Masters degree, Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), New York State Licensure, and at least two years of clinical experience required. Previous experience as a clinical educator/supervisor (or relevant supervisory experience) and experience working in underserved areas is preferred.
