Requirements
  • Bachelor's, Masters or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy and/or be a graduate of a Physical Therapy Program provided by a nationally recognized accrediting body or have documented equivalent training and/or experience and shall meet any current legal requirements of licensure.

Summary
  • Physical abilities sufficient to lift equipment, transfer patients and reposition patients, as well as ability to stand and walk on a continuous basis.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with a diverse group of internal callers, patients, visitors, equipment vendors and facility staff.
  • Ability to promote the team concept and nurture positive interactions departmentally and inter-departmentally.
  • Work requires the ability to maintain organization and establish priorities with a heavy work load and large variety of work responsibilities.
  • Must be able to complete job duties in a self-directed manner, seeking guidance and information as needed. Must also be able to provide guidance and direction to personnel and students immediately supervised by this individual.
  • Documentation skills necessary to write clear and concise reports and correspondence regarding patient status, student and staff job performance, as well as Department procedures and policies.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit/department's policies and procedures.
