Description

• Assess patients of all ages using comprehensive and standardized evaluation tools as well as observational assessments.
• Craft individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate objectives and long-range communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
• Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions emphasizing language, voice, fluency, and swallowing challenges.
• Engage in collaborative care with physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical staff, and families to develop cohesive treatment strategies.
• Provide education to patients and their families to encourage continued progress beyond therapy sessions.
• Facilitate occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care throughout the recovery journey.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
• Pursue ongoing education and engage with peers to remain abreast of developments in speech-language pathology.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

• Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.

• Experience with evidence-based treatment modalities for all age groups, with a robust knowledge of both developmental and acquired disorders related to speech, language, and swallowing.
