Description

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients across all age groups, employing both standardized and observational methods.
  • Create specialized treatment plans tailored to individual short-term goals and long-term communication, cognition, or swallowing objectives.
  • Offer individualized speech therapy sessions that target language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing concerns.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational and physical therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to ensure a unified care approach.
  • Provide education and resources to patients and families to promote progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, supporting a seamless continuum of care.
  • Maintain thorough documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Keep abreast of the latest advancements in the field through continued education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods across all age groups, including a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for engaging with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Ability to modify therapy techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment complemented by excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
