Occupational Therapist School Setting in Fort Washington, MD

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract This full-time Occupational Therapist position offers the opportunity to support students from kindergarten through eighth grade in an elementary school setting. Located in Fort Washington, MD, this contract role runs for the 2023-2024 school year, beginning with teacher orientation days on August 14th and 15th, and student sessions starting August 26th. The schedule includes 35 hours per week, providing consistent engagement and support for the school community. Responsibilities: Deliver direct occupational therapy services to approximately 10 students requiring individualized interventions Provide consultative support on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis for other students as outlined in their therapy plans Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Monitor and document student progress regularly, adjusting therapy goals as needed Participate in team meetings and contribute to a multidisciplinary approach to student success Qualifications: Valid Occupational Therapy license appropriate for school-based practice Experience working with children in kindergarten through eighth grade preferred Ability to manage a caseload that includes direct therapy and consultative roles Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with educators and families effectively Knowledge of school-based therapy practices, regulations, and documentation requirements Benefits: Full-time, consistent schedule during the school year Opportunity to impact a diverse student population with varying therapy needs Professional collaboration within an educational environment Experience supporting students through all stages of elementary and middle school development This position is an excellent chance for an experienced occupational therapist to make a meaningful difference in a school setting.
