Description
- Conduct evaluations for patients among pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing standardized tests and observation methodologies.
- Design tailored treatment plans targeting both short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Provide individualized speech therapy concentrating on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Partner with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to coordinate seamless care strategies.
- Deliver educational support to patients and families, helping extend progress beyond clinical sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to promote consistent care throughout the treatment journey.
- Ensure precise and timely documentation, in alignment with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in professional growth and collaboration by staying abreast of the latest advancements in the field.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet attained.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
