Description:
VMRC Therapy team has recently transitioned from a contracted team to in-house. We are currently seeking Physical Therapist Assistants to help complete our therapy team. As a vital team member, you will have the opportunity to support residents in meeting their therapy goals and improving their quality of life.
Job Qualifications :
- Assists physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current Physical Therapy Assistant state license; CPR certification
- Education: Graduate of an accredited therapy program
- Works effectively to comply with policies of all VMRC areas. Works collaboratively with team members to meet resident needs across the VMRC campus.
- Effectively works with other members of the VMRC team to provide in-services and education to meet individual resident/patient needs according to standard, regulations, gaps in service delivery and initiatives.
- Provides services under the direction of licensed physical therapist.
- Contributes to a physical therapists effectiveness by identifying patient care issues.
- Administers treatment programs for residents and patients.
- Documents patient care services according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation procedures.
- Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily living activities.
- Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
- Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
