This opportunity is for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist holding the CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) credential to provide specialized speech therapy services in an educational setting. The position requires expertise in pediatric speech-language pathology within a school environment, focusing on students in grades 6 and 8. This role is based in Brevard, NC, and serves one school, delivering itinerant services with paid travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech-language evaluations and therapy sessions for K-12 students, specifically addressing the needs of 6th and 8th graders.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress reports.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress.
- Participate in paid team meetings and allocate time for administrative duties as needed.
- Provide consistent services throughout the school year, including extended school year (ESY) sessions in July.
Qualifications:
- Valid SLP license with CCC credential required; CFY and SLPA candidates will not be considered.
- Experience in pediatric speech therapy within a school or healthcare environment preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with students requiring speech-language support.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Availability to start immediately and commit through the end of the school year, ESY, and new school year assignments.
Position Details:
- Location: Brevard, NC
- Contract duration: Needs coverage starting ASAP through end of school year, ESY in July, and NSY beginning in August.
- Hours per week: Approximately 2.5 hours
- Caseload cap: Follows district workload model with manageable student numbers
- One school assignment with itinerant service delivery and paid travel time
