It is the perfect close-knit community if you are an outdoor adventurist looking for slightly slower-paced living while also continuing to grow in your healthcare career. # Learn about a nursing career at RRH: www.rrh.org/nurses What#s it like to work at RRH?: Nurses | Kern County Hospitals # JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Medical Director and direct supervision of the Manager of the Cardiopulmonary Services Department, a Respiratory Therapist I may perform all functions and procedures, if authorized and competent, as outlined in the Policy and Procedure Manuals of the Department of Cardiopulmonary Services. #They evaluate and treat patients ranging in age from premature infants to the elderly. #They are responsible for the evaluation of a patient#s breathing capacity and assessment of oxygen levels and determining the clinical status and underlying factors that may be contributing to the patient#s state of health. #They may examine the patient, interview a patient#s family, interact with other members of the healthcare team, evaluate health records and/or relay information to the treating/referring physician. #They will work with the physician and other staff to develop and implement the plan of care. #They regularly assess equipment, observe and evaluate use of a bronchodilator delivery device or measure the patient#s response to therapy. #They interact with and teach patients and their families how to properly use a device, deliver treatment, and provide education. #They will respond to and provide intervention such as intubation, CPR, and ventilation management. #They perform cleaning, processing, and assembly of department equipment, general department cleaning, restocking of Respiratory Therapy supplies, and other related tasks assigned by the department manager. QUALIFICATIONS: # 1. #Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license from the Respiratory Care Board of California and certified by the National# # # # #Board for Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). # 2. #Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Certification. # 3. #Minimum of 1 year acute care experience after state licensing preferred. # 4. #BLS Certification required and maintained thereafter. # 5. #ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification within 1 year of hire and maintained thereafter. # 6. #PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification within 1 year and maintained thereafter. # 7. #NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification within 1 year and maintained thereafter. # 8. #Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in the English language. # 9. #Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families and co-workers. #
