Duties

Purpose:

Provide therapy services to students as directed by Individual Education Plans. Conduct comprehensive assessments to discern students' strengths and challenges as part of an interprofessional team.

  • Implement therapeutic interventions, both individually and in group or classroom settings, catering to the unique needs of each student.
  • Monitor and meticulously document students' progress towards targeted objectives.
  • Engage in continuous professional development endeavors to remain abreast of contemporary research findings and optimal methodologies within the occupational therapy domain.
  • Ensure timely completion of all requisite documentation.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and interdisciplinary professionals to formulate tailored Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), 504 plans, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for students.
  • Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of the variety of physical, emotional and cognitive conditions which may impact a students learning to treat student needs
  • Evaluates functional needs as they relate to access and participation in educational activities
  • Designs and implements needs-based therapy plans for individual and groups of students
  • Employs a continuum of service delivery models in the least restrictive environment for students with disabilities and integrates services for other students as appropriate
  • Provides training, education, and reports to family/caregivers and other professionals
  • Participates in screening processes as appropriate
  • Provides appropriate need- and age-based intervention that utilizes an evidence-based decision-making process
  • Creates and submits a variety of reports
  • Maintains files and/or records for the purpose of ensuring the availability of information as required for reference and/or compliance
  • Willingness to be trained in NVCI to be part of the school support team
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation Occupational Therapist License
Salary/Benefits

Annualized Salary Range $68,639 - $76,178.Based on experience and education level.
