To evaluate and treat patients with diseases, injuries, disorders and disabilities, to relieve pain, develop or restore function and maintain maximum performance. This will be a full time position on the Cardiovascular Acute Care team. We are looking for therapists interested in a variety of patient populations that includes medicine cardiology, thoracic and vascular surgery and pulmonary medicine. We have a structured orientation process to each new area with ongoing mentoring by both Senior Therapists and APTA Board Certified Specialists in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy.

  • If licensed prior to 2016: Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy or basic MS.
  • If licensed on or after 2016: Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT).
  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Program and Clinical Internship
  • Demonstrated proficiency in patient treatment.
  • Possession of a current state License to practice therapy in Michigan. New Grads welcome to apply.
  • Experience in an acute care setting at an academic medical center or large tertiary hospital; new graduates with strong clinical rotations will be considered.

Schedule to be determined but will include one weekend day as part of the regular schedule, plus occasional holidays.

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
