A School-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available in Herkimer, NY, serving students from Pre-K through 12th grade. This full-time, itinerant role operates within a K-12 school setting, providing specialized speech and language support without performing evaluations. The position spans the 2025-2026 school year, from September to June, covering approximately 37.5 to 40 hours weekly.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services to students across various grade levels
- Utilize expertise with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices in therapy sessions
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to implement individualized treatment plans
- Manage a caseload of students in an itinerant capacity, traveling between locations as needed
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and student progress, adhering to school guidelines
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid New York State SLP license
- Experience working with AAC devices
- Ability to manage an itinerant caseload effectively
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work with students, families, and educational staff
