School SLPA - Oregon

An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a K-12 school setting. This contract position is designed for professionals who are passionate about supporting students communication development under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. As an SLPA, you'll help implement therapy plans, support students speech and language goals, and contribute meaningfully to their academic and social success.

Qualifications:

• Valid SLPA license or certification

• Bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders

• Experience working with K-12 students preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to follow therapy plans and directions from supervising SLP

• Understanding of speech and language development and communication disorders

• School-based experience is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct therapy services to students as outlined by the supervising SLP

• Assist in implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

• Prepare and organize therapy materials and activities

• Document student performance and maintain accurate service logs

• Support the SLP in conducting screenings and informal assessments

• Collaborate with educators and staff to support student progress

• Participate in team meetings as appropriate and communicate effectively with the school team
