Position Purpose:
The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist (PRS) provides recovery-oriented services to individuals living with serious mental illness, often with co-occurring substance use disorders. The PRS supports clients in developing and achieving goals related to independent living, social engagement, vocational pursuits, and wellness management. Services may be provided in community, home, or clinic-based settings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver psychiatric rehabilitation services in accordance with individualized recovery plans.
- Assist individuals in developing life skills such as budgeting, self-care, cooking, medication management, and use of public transportation.
- Support clients in accessing community resources such as housing, employment, education, and healthcare.
- Work collaboratively with therapists, case managers, peer specialists, and other service providers.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in compliance with agency, funder, and legal standards.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Facilitate psychoeducational and skills development groups.
- Participate in treatment planning meetings, case conferences, and supervision.
- Monitor progress toward rehabilitation goals and revise services as necessary.
- Engage clients in a respectful, strengths-based, and culturally competent manner.
MINIMUM QUALILFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in (Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, Special Education) with 2 years experience in mental health direct service, 1 year of which must be work experience in Psychiatric Rehabilitation service;
- CPRP (Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner) certification must be attained within two years of date of hire OR CPRP certification current.
- Pre-Employment Drug Screen
- Act 33/34/73 clearances
