Job Responsibilities

  • Assess individuals spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using a variety of standardized tests and observational methods.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that focus on both immediate goals and long-term outcomes in communication, cognition or swallowing.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy focused on communication, language development, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing techniques.
  • Work together with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and relatives to establish a comprehensive care approach.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and families to facilitate progress beyond the therapy room.
  • Assist with sporadic inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments, ensuring consistent care throughout the healing journey.
  • Keep precise and up-to-date documentation that adheres to local, national, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in ongoing educational activities to stay abreast of developments in the field through peer interaction and professional advancement.

Education Requirements

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if certification by ASHA is not obtained yet.

Required Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
